Jun 06, 2026

Hanoi [Vietnam], June 6: Yen Dan, the girl who caused a sensation in 'Walking Amidst the Brilliant Sky,' recently shared her thoughts on venturing into acting and her views on relationships after breaking up with her boyfriend.
Yen Dan, born in 1997, is a TikTok content creator. She gained attention when she participated in the "Star Order Closing" competition and won the championship title. Afterward, the beauty tried her hand at acting, appearing in film projects such as " Walking Amidst the Brilliant Sky," "Going to the Land of Sunshine," etc. Recently, she was chosen by director Dinh Tuan Vu for the role of An in the film "Borrowed Shells ."
Yen Dan recounted that she began her casting journey in March 2025, going through many working sessions with the director before being entrusted with a role in "The Borrowed Shell ." Initially, the actress auditioned for the role of Ngoc (played by Tieu Vy), but later proactively expressed her interest in trying out the character of An because she felt it suited her.
For this project, Yen Dan had to perform many difficult scenes, including one where she had to be submerged in water for 7 hours. However, she believed: "If I take a risk, Dinh Tuan Vu has to take ten. Since he has placed his trust in me, I'm not afraid to do my best."
In the film "Borrowed Soul ," Yen Dan plays Quoc Truong's wife, but is betrayed by her husband. Therefore, she didn't encounter too many difficulties in the scenes she filmed with the senior actor. Before filming began, the 9X beauty carefully read the script, sticking to the story to get the right emotions for her role. "Luckily, Quoc Truong is very easygoing and listens well. When I present my ideas, he's willing to develop them together, rather than forcing me to follow his ideas," she confided.
Before "The Hermit Crab, " Yen Dan had previously acted in the television series "Walking Amidst the Brilliant Sky." She sets different goals for herself in each film. With the television project, the actress wanted to "make her presence known" to the audience that she wanted to try her hand at acting. But with Dinh Tuan Vu's work, she put pressure on herself because she wanted people to know how serious she was about acting. "I didn't want it to be just an experience. I acted with the mindset that I had no way back," she emphasized.
Compared to her role in "Walking Amidst the Brilliant Sky ," her performance in "The Hermit Crab" is considered psychologically demanding, a stark contrast to her real-life Yen Dan. As this is her first foray into film, the winner of " Star of the Year" inevitably faces mixed opinions. However, she chooses to approach it with a relaxed and open mind.
Yen Dan believes: "I am willing to listen to constructive feedback to do better. Nobody is perfect from the start. I am ambitious but not overly perfectionistic."
Besides her career, Yen Dan's love life has also attracted much attention, especially after she publicly announced her breakup with actor Do Nhat Hoang. According to the 9X actress, at the present time, both of them are committed to long-term careers, so "they will inevitably meet again, and who knows, maybe in the future they will work on a project together." Therefore, they choose to maintain a civil relationship. "We are friends and colleagues. Even if people gossip, those involved feel at ease because everything has passed a long time ago," she said.
The beauty queen recounted that in the initial period after the breakup, she couldn't help but feel sad and resentful. However, over time, both chose to look forward and continue on their own journeys. "I'm happy for my ex's success. Because we were together for a time, I know how serious and hardworking he was, so what he achieved is what he deserves," she said.
After a turbulent love life, she admitted she's hesitant to date someone in the same profession, even though she doesn't know what the future holds. Currently, Yen Dan wants to focus on doing her best for her career so as not to disappoint her audience.
