Napoli looking to secure CL spot with win over Bologna

May 11, 2026

London [UK], May 11: Napoli must pick themselves up at home to Bologna after their Serie A title defence was ended last time out.
Antonio Conte's men drew a blank in a 0-0 draw at Como last weekend, crowning Inter Milan champions, but a win on Monday will assure Champions League football for the Partenopei next season.
Bologna's four-match winless and goalless run has seen their own European hopes slip away but head coach Vincenzo Italiano insisted his side will not throw in the towel.
"We've slipped to 10th place but we still have something important to play for and we'll do it until the end," Italiano told a press
conference.
"We want to finish strong and find the motivation that can help you play well in these games. Look at Inter, they won the Scudetto and they're still fired up - we need to be the same.
"No one likes to make a fool of themselves and we have to do our best in every match." While Italiano is under contract until 2027, he has been linked with several other clubs this summer and the 48-year-old revealed he will only think about his future at the end of the campaign.
"When I speak to the club, with all the goodness of what we've experienced over the years, we'll reveal everything: the objectives achieved, who will remain, who will be replaced," Italiano added.
