In an interview with Qatar Tribune, Jordan's Ambassador to the State of Qatar HE Zaid Al Lozi described the World Cup experience as "a defining national milestone".
"Although the results did not reflect the ambitions of our people, Jordan has already achieved something historic by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the very first time. Our players represented not only football, but the values, culture, and dignity of the Jordanian people." Al Lozi emphasized that the Kingdom has always believed success is measured not solely by victories but by conduct and national identity.
"The remarkable gesture our players made inside the dressing room reflected the true character of Jordanians. Hospitality, respect, humility, and appreciation are deeply rooted in our culture. We are proud that millions around the world saw Jordan through these values."
He praised the unwavering support shown by His Majesty King Abdullah II, who attended the team's World Cup matches alongside HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, describing their presence as a powerful message of solidarity.
"His Majesty has always stood beside Jordanian athletes. His attendance demonstrated that national leadership supports its youth through success and disappointment alike. This kind of leadership inspires confidence, unity, and resilience."
The ambassador noted that football in Jordan has entered a new chapter despite the early elimination.
"Every great football nation begins with experience. This tournament exposed our players to the highest level of competition, and those lessons will strengthen Jordanian football for years to come. We leave the World Cup with greater belief, stronger ambitions, and valuable experience."
Speaking about the Jordanian people, Ambassador Al Lozi said their resilience has always defined the nation. "Jordanians are known for their courage, generosity, determination, and ability to overcome challenges. These qualities have shaped our country throughout history and were evident in the tremendous support our national team received from Jordanians everywhere, including our community here in Qatar."
He also expressed gratitude to Qatar for its continuous support of Jordanian sports and bilateral relations, saying:"Qatar has consistently demonstrated genuine friendship toward Jordan across many sectors. The hospitality extended to Jordanian fans and the strength of our brotherly relations are deeply appreciated."
From a technical perspective, Maher Ismail, coach of Qatar Stars League club Al Shahania, believes Jordan's World Cup debut should be seen in the long term rather than judged solely by results.
"Qualification itself was an extraordinary achievement. Jordan competed against established football nations with significantly greater World Cup experience. These matches provided invaluable lessons that cannot be replicated elsewhere."
Ismail noted that Jordan demonstrated tactical discipline during several phases of both matches but struggled with experience in decisive moments.
"Against Algeria, Jordan produced an organized first-half performance and created dangerous transitions. However, maintaining concentration against elite opponents for ninety minutes requires experience that only repeated participation at this level can provide."
He highlighted defensive organization and collective teamwork as major positives.
"Jordan has developed a recognizable football identity built on discipline, commitment, and team spirit. These foundations are essential for future success. What now needs further development is squad depth, tactical flexibility, and greater attacking variety."
Regarding the final group-stage match against Argentina, Ismail believes the fixture offers a unique opportunity despite Jordan's elimination.
"Playing against the reigning world champions is an extraordinary occasion for any footballer. Jordan should approach the match with confidence rather than pressure. The players have nothing to lose and everything to gain in terms of experience."
He added that Jordan's football future remains promising. "The country's investment in youth development has accelerated in recent years. If this progress continues and the national team maintains stability, I believe Jordan will qualify for future World Cups and become a regular competitor in Asian football."
Beyond the technical analysis, Jordan's World Cup campaign delivered something that statistics cannot measure. While victories eluded the team, its conduct resonated across the global football community.
